Rava Paisjärv

Estonia Lake 1 - Excellent

Rava Paisjärve is a small bathing site located on the south shore of Rava reservoir in the western part of the lake, in Rava village, Ambla region, Järvamaa. The shoreline of the bathing area is approximately 16 metres long. Part of the beach is covered with sand and the remaining portion is grassed. The site is managed by Järva Municipality.

Water

Rava reservoir is an elongated north-south oriented impoundment with a surface area of 2.5 hectares. The lake has a maximum depth of 4.5 metres and an average depth of 2.2 metres. The average swimming depth is approximately 1.5 metres. The lake's shoreline is 1,290 metres long. Water colour is brownish-red with low transparency of 1.2–1.5 metres. The water is moderately stratified and does not freeze over in winter.

Changing cabin, toilet, waste bins, information boards about water quality and site management.

Season

Regular monitoring occurs throughout the official swimming season. Water quality assessment is conducted annually at the end of the swimming season.

Water Quality

Water quality was rated as excellent in 2019. The bathing water has been consistently classified as excellent from May 2012 to September 2019. Water quality is monitored regularly throughout the swimming season and assessed annually based on the results from the preceding four-year period. Testing covers faecal enterococci and Escherichia coli levels.
