Red Strand is a sandy beach near Galley Head, with a small river running onto the shore and rock pools exposed at low tide. On-site facilities include public toilets (seasonal) and a drinking water tap; parking is limited, with additional roadside parking nearby. There are no lifeguards on duty, and a coffee truck operates on site at times.
