Rivera de Acebo comprises two natural bathing pools located in the municipality of Acebo, Extremadura, Spain. The Carreciá pool is formed by water retained behind a gate during the bathing season, with an artificial beach of stone. The Jevero recreational area consists of a small artificial pool approximately 70 m² with 0.5 m depth and three natural pools separated by dams. Both sites are situated on the Guadancil river at an altitude of 470 metres.

Water

River (Río Guadancil, known as Rivera de Acebo). Single-channel mountain river with low sinuosity. Substrate composed of coarse-grained granite. The Cervigona reservoir is located 3 km upstream. Mean annual discharge 1982–2016: 0.17 m³/s; June 1.305 m³/s, July 0.497 m³/s, August 0.254 m³/s, September 0.157 m³/s. Extreme flows: minimum 0.05 m³/s, maximum 17.98 m³/s.

Location

From the town of Acebo, take the regional road 32.3 and follow signs for 'Piscinas naturales Rivera de Acebo'. The Carreciá natural pool is located approximately 1.3 km downstream from Acebo town centre beyond the road bridge. The Jevero pool is located approximately 300 metres before the bridge. Parking is available at both sites.

Parking available at both sites. Rescue posts present. Information signs displayed. Bar/chiringuito available. Toilets available. Refuse collection and waste bins present. Picnic areas available at Carreciá. Bicycle parking available at both sites. Ornamental fountain at Jevero. No domestic animals permitted. No showers, no boat ramps, no fountains for drinking water.

Surface water body classified as Good or better under the Water Framework Directive (2015–2021 period). Designated as part of the Tajo hydrographic demarcation and Gata sub-basin.
