Location

Sassari municipality, Sardegna region. The competent authority is located at Viale Trieste n. 159/3 (3rd floor), 09123 Cagliari.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent. The bathing water is monitored by the regional agency for environmental protection (Agenzia regionale per la protezione dell'ambiente della Sardegna).

Risks

Identified pressure sources include urban wastewater treatment plants (very important), tourist accommodation discharges (very important), ports (less important), and river mouths (less important). Short-duration pollution events are under study for appropriate modelling approach.
