Water Quality

Water quality has been classified annually from 2002 to 2017 according to EU Directive 2006 standards. Bacteriological and physical-chemical analyses have been conducted since 2012. Threshold values for water quality classes are established by the regional health authority (ARS).

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include: siltation of the reservoir, sanitation system risks (non-compliant individual systems, pluvial networks, wastewater discharge risks), agricultural activities, industrial activities, metal hydroxide deposits, animal presence on bathing sites, and accidental contamination events. Winter water level management is necessary to address certain risks.
