Edrovice Pond is a bathing water body located in the Moravian-Silesian region of the Czech Republic. The pond covers 0.83 hectares and is supplied by an inlet stream from the Novopolský brook. Water quality monitoring by the regional health authority has classified the water as suitable for bathing based on long-term microbiological analysis. The bathing area has a grassy shore with a stony to muddy bottom and is approximately 250 meters long.

Water

Man-made pond with a surface area of 0.83 hectares. The catchment area measures 5.28 square kilometers. The pond is fed by an inlet with a discharge of 0.081 cubic meters per second measured at the Novopolský brook above the inlet bifurcation. The shore is grassy and the bottom is stony to muddy.

Location

The bathing beach is located at Edrovice Pond near the town of Rýmařov. The operator is the municipality of Rýmařov, located at náměstí Míru 230/1, postal code 795 01. Daily visitor numbers are fewer than 300 people.

Facilities

Toilets are available. A refreshment stand operates on an irregular basis. A children's slide and small play area are provided.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as good based on microbiological indicators (intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli) measured from 2014 to 2017. Total phosphorus concentrations are predominantly at the limiting threshold according to regulation no. 401/2015. Water transparency shows a positive trend, with values now exceeding the required limit of 1 meter in recent years. Algal blooms were recorded only transiently in 2007 and 2008. Overall monitoring assessment indicates satisfactory conditions.

Risks

Algal blooms were recorded in 2007 and partially in 2008, which temporarily resulted in water being classified as unsuitable for bathing. Water eutrophication is expected to some degree due to fish farming operations, particularly where carp species predominate in the fish stock.
