Water Quality

Water quality classification is elevated. The bathing water is part of the Fondi-Itri hydrographic basin. One urban wastewater treatment plant serving more than 2000 population equivalents is active in the municipality. No specific monitoring for pollutant concentrations is currently active.

Risks

Shellfish cultivation is present in the area. Short-duration pollution events are still under study for appropriate modelling approaches. Possible sources include wastewater discharges and urban runoff.
