Location

Sapri, Salerno province, Campania region. The beach is at the mouth of the Brizzi torrent (coordinates: 40.069994°N, 15.631585°E). The Municipality of Sapri is located at Via Villa Comunale, CAP 84073.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Monitoring conducted by Regione Campania and ARPAC (Provincial Department of Salerno).

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified: the mouth of the Brizzi torrent in the immediate vicinity; the root of the downstream mole of Sapri port on the east side; possible breaks in the submarine pipeline from the wastewater treatment plant located in Fortino. Urban wastewater treatment via biological active sludge system with submarine pipeline discharge (coordinates: start 40.07364496°N 15.62262187°E, end 40.05875189°N 15.62098586°E).
