Lac du Bourdon is a bathing area located in the communes of Saint Fargeau and Moutiers en Puisaye. The bathing zone is defined by a beach profile established in accordance with European Directive 2006/7/CE. The profile identifies the water body's characteristics, vulnerability factors, and potential pollution sources including bacteriological risks, cyanobacteria proliferation, bryozoans, macrophytes, and macro-debris. Management measures are implemented to protect public health and maintain water quality.

Water

Lake (lac). The bathing zone includes a defined beach area on Lac du Bourdon with identified watershed basins and hydrodynamic characteristics.

Location

Lac du Bourdon, Saint Fargeau and Moutiers en Puisaye communes. The beach is known as Plage de la Calanque on Lac du Bourdon.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored according to European Directive 2006/7/CE classification system. Monitoring includes bacterial indicators (Enterococcus and Escherichia coli), cyanobacteria, phytoplankton, and macro-algae. Surveillance data from the ARS (health authority) is analysed to assess conformity with quality standards. The goal is to achieve at least 'sufficient quality' classification by 2015.

Risks

Identified risks include bacteriological contamination, cyanobacteria and phytoplankton proliferation, bryozoans, macro-debris (tar residues, glass, plastic, rubber), swimmer's itch (dermatitis), and leptospirosis. Short-term and anticipated pollution events are possible.
