The 2006 directive impacted classification standards. Robustness testing of classifications has been conducted. Supplementary monitoring is performed by the wastewater network manager (Veolia). Potential sources of pollution from collective and non-collective sewage systems, stormwater networks, and agricultural activities have been identified.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include discharge points on the beach and coastline, sewage systems (collective and non-collective), stormwater networks, and agricultural pollution. Potential for macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation has been assessed. Episodes of temporary degradation of water quality have been documented.
