Saint Romans - Lac Du Marandan

France Lake 1 - Excellent

Lake Marandan is an artificial bathing lake located in the Marandan leisure base in Saint-Romans, Isère, positioned between Grenoble and Valence. The swimming zone covers 1200 square metres with depths between 0 and 1.20 metres. The lake is fed by groundwater pumped from March through mid-September. A geotextile covers the lake bottom, and water drains by overflow into a field west of the site.

Artificial lake. Swimming zone area: 1200 m². Depth of swimming zone: 0 to 1.20 metres. Leisure zone (fishing, canoeing, kayaking): 13000 m². Groundwater-fed. Bottom covered with geotextile. Water overflow evacuation to adjacent field.

Location

Saint-Romans, Isère, West of the department, halfway between Grenoble and Valence. The Marandan leisure base is located on land owned by the Municipality of Saint-Romans. Parking is available outside the site.

Facilities

Lifeguarded swimming zone in July and August with rescue post. Bar-restaurant. Camping with 100 places (tents, caravans, camping-cars, mobile homes). Children's play area. Trampoline. Inflatable structure. Petanque court. Ping-pong. Tennis court. Volleyball and badminton court. Function lodging on site.

Season

June to August. Lifeguard supervision in July and August. Lake pumping system operational from mid-March to mid-September.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as low-risk contamination. Independent laboratory performs bacteriological analysis every 15 days during the bathing season (June to August), with approximately 5 analyses per season. Parameters monitored: Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Results are displayed at site entrance and transmitted to the Regional Health Agency (ARS). Annual quality classification determined from all seasonal results.
