Water quality classification: Excellent. The bathing water is influenced by the Riu Mannu di Porto Torres watershed. Identified pollution sources include urban wastewater treatment plants (important), industrial discharges IPPC (very important), ports (important), diffuse agricultural pollution (important), diffuse industrial pollution (very important), and coastal infrastructure morphology including shipyards and ports (important). A suitable modelling approach for short-duration pollution events is under study.
