Spiaggia della Lamaia lies on Elba Island, reachable via a shaded trail (Sentiero della Salute) connecting from Biodola beach, as well as by a dirt road off the main highway. The shore consists of pebbles and sand, with clearer water further from the coastline. It is a free beach with no facilities, and hiking shoes are recommended for the approach.
