Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. No short-duration pollution events were recorded over the past four years.

Risks

The mouth of the Tara River at the southern boundary is identified as a potential point source of pollution. No algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation has been detected. No toxic algal species proliferation has been recorded.
