Spiaggia Romana-Colonia Vescovile is a rocky and sandy beach located in Bacoli, in the province of Naples, Campania. The beach is characterized by sandy shoreline with the presence of structures and outflow channels from Lake Fusaro along the beach. The area features backdune vegetation and moderate urbanization.

Location

Bacoli, province of Naples, Campania. The beach is located near the outlets of Lake Fusaro (North outlet and Central outlet).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020-2021-2022-2023). Sewage treatment: wastewater is conveyed to the Naples West treatment plant (Cuma).

Risks

Potential pollution sources include the old outlet of Lake Fusaro and the Lake Fusaro outlet. The lake contains several overflow discharges: overflow discharge on via Cuma side, emergency discharge via Fusaro-Grotta dell'Acqua, overflow discharge on G. Cesare side, and overflow discharge in Mazzone canal.
