The mouth of the Ciappetta Camaggi canal is identified as a potential pollution source. The area is characterized by a fossil hydrographic network and irrigation channels; agricultural activities connected to land use could represent potential sources of diffuse pollution conveyed by surface runoff. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the last four years. The area is not characterized by algal or cyanobacteria blooms. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been detected.
