Spineta Nuova is a sandy beach located in Battipaglia, in the Campania region. The shoreline features tourist structures along the beach, with low-lying coastal terrain. Inland, the landscape transitions to agricultural areas and cattle farms. The Tusciano River mouth is situated to the north of the beach.

Location

Battipaglia, Salerno Province, Campania region. The beach is located along a sandy shoreline with the Tusciano River mouth to the north.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Poor (based on monitoring years 2020–2023). Identified pollution sources include an urban wastewater treatment plant in Tavernola discharging to the Tusciano River, with approximately 60% of effluent unable to be treated and discharged directly to the river. A second biological treatment facility located on Via Bosco Fili discharges to the Santa Chiarella canal, which flows into the Tusciano River.

Risks

Wastewater discharge from treatment plants and direct effluent overflow from municipal treatment facilities during periods of insufficient capacity.
