Stara Novalja (Trinćel) is a cultivated beach in Novalja on the Croatian coast. The beach has a pebbled surface with low and high vegetation and features an indented coastline with a mild underwater slope. The average sea temperature during the season is 24.74°C, and the beach experiences high bather density. It holds a Blue Flag designation and is equipped with beach safety nets and buoys for protection.

Adriatic Sea coastal water. Average sea temperature during the season is 24.74°C. Salinity ranges from 36.5 to 42.3 during the season. Tide amplitude is 34 cm. Prevailing wind direction is north. Coastal slope is mild (less than 15°) with mild underwater coastal slope (less than 15°).

Location

Novalja. Beach coordinates are 44.5895°N, 14.8799°E. Parking is available with a charge. The beach is accessible by asphalt road.

Season

Monitoring conducted year-round with 10 samples annually since 2009.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent under both Croatian national regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EC. Annual assessments have been conducted consistently from 2009 to 2025 with 10 samples per year. Four-year rolling assessments show 40 samples per period.
