Hohenfelden Reservoir is a naturally formed dam lake serving as a local recreation area. The designated bathing area is located at the boat dock and rescue tower. The lake has a water surface of 0.38 km² and a maximum depth of 6.25 m. It maintains very good ecological status and is oligotrophic in character.

Hohenfelden municipality, located at coordinates 11.1800°E, 50.8788°N at an elevation of 319.8 m above sea level. Parking available. Campground, FKK area, and restaurant with lake terrace are present.

Water Quality

Ecological status classification ÖKZ 1 (very good), oligotrophic. Occasional blue-green algae and green algae dominance occurs with irregular annual cycles, though not persistent.

Risks

During heavy and sustained rainfall, surface runoff occurs from agricultural areas around Goldberg through Hohenfelden settlement into the Krumbach tributary. Occasional blue-green algae and green algae dominance.
