Strawczyn

Poland Lake 4 - Poor

Strawczyn is a bathing beach located on the Strawczyn water reservoir on the Olszówka river, a tributary of Mokry Bór. The beach is 64 meters long and is supervised by the State County Health Inspector in Kielce. The bathing area is marked with buoys and equipped with a pier. Water quality is monitored regularly during the summer season according to a sampling schedule agreed with the health authority.

Location

Strawczyn, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Kielce County. The bathing area is managed by the Municipal Center of Culture, Sports and Reading in Strawczyn, located at ul. Turystyczna 6, 26-067 Strawczyn.

Facilities

Lifeguard on duty, toilet with running water and sewage system, pier/molo, water intake point, waste bins, information board, flag mast with WOPR flag, children's bathing area, children's play area on beach, playground, salt inhalation facility (tężnia solankowa), shelters with grill area, designated water zone, designated beach zone for recreation and sports, water sports equipment mooring available, no domestic animals allowed, bathing regulations available for review.

Season

28 June 2025 to 31 August 2025. Opening hours: Monday 10:00 to 18:00.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2025: adequate. Maximum permissible concentrations are Escherichia coli 1000 CFU/100 ml and Enterococci 400 CFU/100 ml. As of 22 August 2025, water was suitable for bathing with E. coli at 160 CFU/100 ml and Enterococci at 344 CFU/100 ml. In 2024, water quality was classified as inadequate. In 2023, water was declared unsuitable on 17 August due to cyanobacteria bloom.

Risks

Cyanobacteria bloom was recorded on 17 August 2023. Elevated E. coli levels were observed on 25 June 2021 (1358 CFU/100 ml), exceeding the maximum permissible concentration of 1000 CFU/100 ml.
