Südseekamp-Wietzendorf is an inland lake formed over 100 years through sand extraction. The lake measures 3.5 hectares with a maximum depth of 15 metres and is fed by over 100 springs. More than one-third of the water circulates daily through the sand layer towards the south, resulting in a water renewal of 3,000 to 4,000 cubic metres. The bathing area features a shallow cove for young children, a pirate ship, and a large playground.
