Summerleaze is on the north coast of Cornwall. It is a sandy beach resort, approximately 440 metres wide, backed with sand dunes. The River Neet flows across the beach to the sea. At low tide Summerleaze is connected to Crooklets Beach to the north, and rock pools are exposed.

Risks

Within the Summerleaze bathing water catchment there are four emergency/storm overflows that discharge into the River Strat upstream of the bathing water. The operation of the overflows can lead to a temporary drop in water quality in the River Strat and at Summerleaze bathing water.
This bathing water is included in the Surfers Against Sewage “Safer Seas Service”. This service can alert you to Combined Storm Sewer Overflow discharges via a phone App and in addition, it includes the Environment Agency Pollution Risk Forecast warnings where they are available.
