The lake is located approximately 1 km from the Bad Dürrheim-Sunthausen district and is half enclosed by the Sunthausen campground. The official bathing beach is situated on the campground and requires an entrance fee. Toilets and showers are available.

Risks

Bathing ban in effect. Aufgrund erhöhter mikrobiologischer Belastung wurde der Sunthauser See nach der Badesaison 2021 zum Baden gesperrt. Der See bleibt so lange für Badende gesperrt, bis Maßnahmen dazu durchgeführt wurden.
