Tjolöholm

Tjolöholm is a bathing area located in the sea below Tjolöholm Castle on the Tjolöholm Peninsula in Kungsbacka Municipality. The bathing spot is situated in a nature area with diverse flora and fauna and numerous walking trails. It features approximately 60 metres of sandy beach. On warm summer days, the area can accommodate 200–400 swimmers.

Location

Tjolöholm Peninsula, Kungsbacka Municipality, Hallands County. The bathing area is located below Tjolöholm Castle.

Accessible bathing jetty for disabled persons.

21 June 2026 to 20 August 2026.

Water Quality

2025: Good quality. 2024: Satisfactory quality. 2023: Poor quality. 2022: Excellent quality. Water is affected by surface runoff during rain from drainage areas discharging into the bay. Torpaån stream, with a drainage area of approximately 24 km², is the largest tributary. The drainage area is characterised by a coastal environment with shallow bays, with agricultural land, forest, and grassland inland (95% natural land cover).

Risks

Water quality is affected by runoff from drainage areas. A bird protection area is located near the bathing area.
