Tonsee is a clay pit lake located approximately 15 km south of Königs Wusterhausen in the Teupitz Lake District, within the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. The lake was formed from clay extraction that began around 1860 and was abandoned in 1900, subsequently filling with groundwater. It consists of two basins connected by a narrow passage with a combined surface area of 9.0 hectares and a maximum depth of 19 metres. The lake is surrounded by pine forest, with a smaller campground to the south and a larger one to the east. Tonsee is popular for swimming and diving due to its clear water, with visibility often exceeding 6 metres.
