A sandy and pebbly beach located 50 metres to the right of the Torrente Vardano stream on the Calabrian coast. The surrounding area features both artificially modified terrain and agricultural land. The beach has an articulated geomorphological coastline.

Location

Fiumefreddo Bruzio, province of Cosenza, Calabria. The bathing area is positioned in front of the Alconara Albanese-Belmonte Calabra water body.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as good. A wastewater treatment plant operates at the mouth of the Torrente Bardano. Potential pollution sources include urban discharge and agricultural land use, with risk of accidental treatment plant malfunction or overflow.

Risks

Accidental treatment plant failures or overflow events from the depuratore (treatment plant) are possible. No algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation have been recorded in the last four years.
