Tràigh Iar lies on the west coast of the island, reached via a farmland track suitable for 4WD vehicles or a walking route of approximately 1.75 miles from a gravel parking area with picnic tables. The beach features white sand bordering open coastal water, with no facilities available beyond the car park. Access can be affected by tidal conditions and sandy mud underfoot.
