Trez Hir is a bathing beach located at the bottom of Bertheaume Bay in Plougonvelin commune, oriented towards the east on the Atlantic Ocean coastline in northwestern Finistère. The beach features rocky outcrops alternating with sandy areas along the foreshore, with the upper beach backed by a cement or stone wall anchoring onto small rock cliffs. The beach is a designated bathing zone with more than 10 bathers during the bathing season.

Water

Coastal bathing water on the Atlantic Ocean coastline. The substrate consists of Brest gneiss geological formations.

Location

Plougonvelin commune, approximately 15 kilometers northwest of Brest in the Finistère department. The beach occupies the bottom of Bertheaume Bay with an eastward orientation.

Facilities

The beach includes amenities encouraging bathing: information signage, parking areas, sand deposits, protected zone, and a minimum of two sanitary installations with information displays on site safety and water quality analysis results.

Season

Bathing season monitoring conducted annually. Profile revision required by 31 December 2016 due to 'Sufficient' water quality classification as of 2013.

Water Quality

As of the 2013 season, bathing waters were classified as 'Sufficient' quality. Water quality monitoring is conducted regularly by health authorities (ARS). Contamination sources have been identified through the profile study.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include rainfall impacts, tidal coefficient effects, agricultural activities in the watershed, individual sanitation systems, and collective sewerage network discharge points.
