Location

Terracina, in the Province of Latina, Lazio region. The bathing area extends along the coast from Porto San Felice Circeo to Punta Stendardo.

Equipped bathing areas and beach establishment present.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: elevato (high). Two active urban wastewater treatment plants serving over 2000 population equivalents operate in the reference municipality. No specific monitoring of pollutant concentrations is currently active during the bathing season. Shellfish cultivation is present as a pollution source.

Risks

Ongoing study of appropriate modelling approaches for short-duration pollution events. The exact nature and sources of such events remain under investigation.
