Vanaranta lies on the banks of the Kiiminkijoki River, near where the river meets the sea. The beach offers deep water suitable for jumping and swimming, piers for boats and swimming, a campfire site, and a workshop hut with a toilet, with fishing for pike and perch possible in the area, though a boat is needed to reach the deeper spots and a permit is required.
