Villanova F.Can.Lama Antelmi is a rocky coastal bathing water located 200 metres north of Torre Canne in the municipality of Ostuni, in the Brindisi province of Puglia. It covers an area of 0.462 square kilometres. The water has been classified as excellent for the period 2017–2020. The bathing area is situated within the Torre Canne–Torre Guaceto marine protected area boundary.

Location

Ostuni, Brindisi province, Puglia region. Located 200 metres north of Torre Canne. The bathing water extends within the Torre Canne–Torre Guaceto marine protected area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. The Lama d'Antelmi stream mouth at the southern boundary may represent a potential point source of pollution, where the Ostuni wastewater treatment plant discharges. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the preceding four years.

Risks

The Lama d'Antelmi stream mouth at the southern boundary is identified as a potential pollution source from the Ostuni treatment plant discharge. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded. The area is not characterised by algal or cyanobacterial proliferation.
