Walney West Shore bathing water is a gently sloping shingle beach with a large expanse of sand exposed at low water. The beach is the most northerly of the bathing waters on Walney Island.

Risks

Through United Utilities improvement programme more storm overflows will be investigated and improved between 2025 and 2030.
This bathing water is included in the Surfers Against Sewage “Safer Seas Service”. This service can alert you to Combined Storm Sewer Overflow discharges via a phone App and in addition, it includes the Environment Agency Pollution Risk Forecast warnings where they are available.
