Werbellinsee is a large, deep glacial lake located approximately 50 km north of Berlin in the Schorfheide-Chorin UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, part of the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau. With a maximum depth of 55 m and surface area of 795 hectares, it ranks among Brandenburg's largest and deepest lakes. The bathing site at Holzablage Michen is a popular recreational area with excellent water clarity, averaging 3.2 m transparency, and is used for swimming, water sports, fishing, and diving.
