Centre Plage de Wimereux is a bathing beach located in the commune of Wimereux on the Côte d'Opale in northern France. The beach features a perré (stone embankment) structure at the shoreline. Water quality monitoring is conducted regularly during the bathing season. The area is subject to tidal influences and wave action from the English Channel.

Water Quality

Bacterial water quality monitoring is conducted during the bathing season with daily concentration analyses. Potential contamination sources include the Wimereux river, Ru d'Honvault watercourse, sanitation systems, and agricultural activities.

Risks

Potential microbial pollution from the Wimereux river, Ru d'Honvault, sanitation systems discharges, and agricultural runoff. Phytoplankton and macro-debris monitoring conducted. Shellfish quality monitoring also performed.
