Poland Lake 2 - Good

Kryspinów bathing beach is located in the Piasków Reservoir, an artificial lake created from sand and gravel extraction approximately 10 km west of Kraków's city centre. The bathing area is a designated zone measuring 100 by 30 metres with an adjacent sandy beach in the south-eastern part of the reservoir. The water is systematically monitored by the State District Sanitary Inspection in Kraków and maintains good to excellent quality.

Water

Artificial reservoir (Piasków Reservoir) created from sand and gravel extraction. Water level at 212 metres above sea level. Water depth ranges from 0.9 to 1.6 metres in the swimming zone and approximately 0.8 metres in the non-swimming zone. Water level shows minor fluctuations of several centimetres linked to groundwater levels.

Location

Kraków, Kryspinów, Małopolskie Province, approximately 10 km west of Kraków city centre and 3 km from the administrative boundary. Multi-space car park available adjacent to the bathing area.

Facilities

Lifeguards at main station and three additional positions; WOPR flag; red buoys marking bathing area boundary; yellow buoys marking non-swimming zone; sandy beach; rescue equipment; toilet facilities 30 metres from bathing area with separate sections for men and women, disabled access facilities, hot and cold water; separate cabin-type toilets; changing rooms; water access point; waste bins with selective waste collection; volleyball court; fenced area; designated recreational zones; children's bathing area; children's beach area; pet prohibition.

Season

20 June 2025 to 1 September 2025. Operating hours 10:00 to 18:00 during July and August. Maximum capacity 500 people.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as good (2025, 2024, 2023) and excellent (2022, 2021). Monitoring conducted regularly by the State District Sanitary Inspection in Kraków. Permitted concentration limits: Escherichia coli 1000 CFU/100 ml; enterococci 400 CFU/100 ml. One instance of unsuitable water quality recorded on 14 August 2023 due to elevated E. coli (2807 CFU/100 ml) and enterococci (408 CFU/100 ml).
