Zalew Ruda is a bathing area created on the Mławka River with a shoreline of 50 metres. The beach features sandy shores with grassy access. The recreational area includes beach volleyball courts and a bonfire site. A white flag indicates safe swimming conditions.

Location

Located in Lipowiec Kościelny, Działdowski district, Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, near Mława. A large parking area and restaurant are nearby.

Outdoor shower, changing room, portable toilets, designated bathing zone in water, recreational beach zone, waste baskets, information board, WOPR flag mast, lifeguard, children's bathing area.

27 June 2025 to 31 August 2025. Operating hours: 10:00 to 18:00.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Unclassified (2025, 2024, 2020, 2021). Closed (2022, 2023). New bathing area (2019). Most recent assessment (22 August 2025) rated the water suitable for bathing with E. coli at 20 jtk(NPL)/100 ml and Enterococci at 15 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Permissible maximum concentrations: E. coli 1000 jtk(NPL)/100 ml; Enterococci 400 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Identified pollution sources include cyanobacterial bloom (13 August 2025) and Escherichia coli (1 August 2025).
