Zaton H.R. is a cultivated sandy beach located in Nin, Croatia, featuring a mild coastal slope and an indented coastline. The beach extends 1,000 metres in length with an average width of 20 metres. It experiences high bather density during the swimming season and is designated as a Blue Flag beach. The surrounding area is a camping resort with comprehensive recreational facilities.

Adriatic Sea coastal beach. Beach length 1,000 metres, width 20 metres. Mild underwater coastal slope (less than 15 degrees). Tide amplitude 31.7 centimetres. Average sea temperature during season 23.32°C. Salinity ranges from 34.9 to 38.9 during the season. Prevailing wind is north-east.

Location

Nin, Zaton, Croatia. Accessible by asphalt road. Paid parking available.

Lifeguard service, shower facilities, changing rooms, restaurant, café bar, playground, sea buoys, water sports, aquagan. Boat docking available directly on the beach.

Monitored annually from 2009 onwards with 10 samples per year.

Water Quality

Water quality classification assessed as excellent. Annual monitoring conducted with 10 samples per year since 2009. Four-year assessment periods show consistent monitoring under both Croatian regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EZ. Most recent assessments (2022-2025) include 40 samples per four-year period.
