A predominantly sandy beach with over 99% sand composition and a grain size of 0.244 mm. The beach is 70 meters wide and located in an urban area with significant residential settlements and tourism-related infrastructure. The bathing water is classified as excellent quality.

Coastal waters. The bathing area extends 0.750 km with a surface area of 31,297.48 square meters within a total water body area of 187,131 square meters.

Location

Montesilvano, Pescara Province, Abruzzo Region, Italy. The beach is situated in the Via Bradano area (Via Torrente Piomba). Parking and beach establishments are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. The Mazzocco stream mouth is present in the adjacent southern section and represents an identified pollution source. Sewage from the area is conveyed to the Montesilvano treatment plant, which discharges treated effluent into the Saline River. Currently, no specific monitoring measures are active.

Risks

The Mazzocco stream mouth discharges into the adjacent area. Short-duration pollution events are under investigation using modeling approaches. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded in regional marine waters. Occasional dinoflagellate blooms with scarce or absent toxic species have been observed in past summers.
