Coastal water body (Chiavari - Sestri Levante). Area extension: 2.88 square kilometers. The zone is characterized by several stream discharge points, including Rio Selasca and Rio Caccini.

Location

Lavagna, Genova Province, Liguria region. Located along the main road connecting Lavagna and Sestri Levante, near Cavi railway station. Parking is available in the area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, discharge pipes, or Imhoff tanks are present. No cyanobacterial blooms occur due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

River mouths are identified as pollution sources. Short-duration pollution events and anomalous situations are being assessed using a modeling approach under development.
