Location

Fiumicino, Lazio region, Rome province, Italy. The bathing water extends along the coast from Rio Fiume to Praita di Mare. The area extends for 843 meters.

Water Quality

One urban treatment plant serving over 2000 population equivalent is active in the reference municipality. Shellfish farming activities are present in the area.

Risks

The area is subject to occasional blooms of macroalgae and/or microalgae potentially toxic to marine life. A suitable modelling approach for short-duration pollution events is still under study.
