Colonia de Gasperi is a small bathing beach located near residential structures in Balestrate, Sicily. The area extends 280 meters along the coast and is situated east of the Balestrate small harbor. It is classified as a coastal bathing water and has maintained excellent water quality from 2019 to 2024.

Balestrate, Province of Palermo, Sicily. The bathing area is delimited by coordinates 38.0563-13.0144 to 38.0575-13.0173. The responsible authority is the Municipality of Balestrate, Via Roma 14.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2024). Pollution source identified: anthropogenic activity. A section of sea and coast to the west is permanently non-bathing due to pollution.

Risks

A permanently non-bathing zone exists to the west due to pollution. No short-duration pollution events or anomalous events have been recorded. No cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported. No macroalgal or phytoplankton proliferation events of potentially toxic species have been reported.
