Marine coastal water body. Area: 0.976 km². The water body is part of the Peschici-Vieste hydrological unit and the Canale Macinino basin.

Location

Peschici, Province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing water is located 200 metres to the right at position 152 and 500 metres to the right at the sewage outfall.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (2017–2020). A treated wastewater discharge from the Peschici treatment plant, serving both civil and industrial settlements, discharges into the sea via a submarine outfall. No specific monitoring measures are currently active. No short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

A submarine sewage discharge from the Peschici wastewater treatment plant represents a potential point source of pollution. The area is not characterized by algal or cyanobacterial blooms, and no cases of potentially toxic algal proliferation have been detected in the past four years.
