Punta S Nicola is a bathing water area located in Peschici, Foggia Province, in the Puglia region. The beach features a cliff (falesia) formation. The water body is classified as coastal marine and forms part of the Peschici-Vieste hydrological body. The area has been rated as having excellent water quality based on monitoring data from 2017–2020.

Location

Peschici, Foggia Province, Puglia region. The bathing area covers 1.368 km².

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). The primary identified pollution source is the Peschici wastewater treatment plant with submarine discharge carrying treated effluent from civil and productive settlements. No short-term pollution events were recorded in the preceding four years.

Risks

A submarine outfall carrying treated urban wastewater discharges into the area. The water body is not characterized by algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains or macroalgae proliferation have been detected.
