Location

Balestrate, Palermo Province, Sicily. The bathing area is located near the mouth of the Calatubo torrent, approximately 200 metres to the east. Coordinates: 38.0427–12.9846. The competent authority is Balestrate Municipality, Via Roma 14, Tel. 091.8980011.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2024). No bathing prohibitions are in place. No short-duration pollution events or anomalous situations have been reported.

Risks

A river mouth (Calatubo torrent) is identified as a potential pollution source. No cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported despite the area's proximity to densely populated zones. No macroalgal, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species proliferation events have been reported.
