A beach located 250 metres north of the municipal wastewater treatment plant discharge in the Potenza Picena area. The beach has fine calcareous and siliceous gravel of calcareous origin with a medium slope of 3% on the emerged beach and 8% on the submerged beach. The distance between average low water and high water (safe water limit) is 4 metres. Astronomical tidal range is 30–50 centimetres. The beach width is 20 metres.

Water quality classification E. The municipality is served by a combined public sewerage system connected to treatment. The municipal treatment plant at Alvata has demonstrated good purification efficiency over the last four years, with all parameters (COD, BOD, total suspended solids, E. coli) in compliance with regulatory limits (500 CFU/100 ml for E. coli during the bathing season), except for one exceedance of suspended solids in September 2007. The treatment plant discharge is subject to legal monitoring and self-monitoring controls.
