A flat sandy beach located 250 metres north of the Salinello River mouth, with sand comprising over 99% of the composition. The southern portion of the beach is slightly pebbly. The beach extends approximately 90 metres in width and is surrounded by urban settlements and tourism-related structures. The bathing area accommodates approximately 5,600 daily swimmers.

Four beach resort complexes, four free beaches, one recreational boat landing, four structures with first aid services and facilities for disabled persons, four structures with sports activity facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT. The municipality operates a separate sewer system serving 98% of the population. Wastewater is conveyed to a treatment plant in Contrada Salinello. A new activated sludge treatment facility entered operation in 2020, dimensioned for 62,000 population equivalents, collecting wastewater from Tortoreto and Giulianova Nord and discharging into the Salinello River. Marine waters in the region have not displayed characteristic cyanobacterial blooms. Rare algal blooms occur in summer months, with occasional dinoflagellate blooms of low toxicity or completely absent toxic species.
