Water quality classification: elevated. Monitoring conducted according to EU standards. One active urban wastewater treatment plant serves the reference municipality with over 2000 population equivalents. Risks

Shellfish farming identified as a pollution source. An appropriate modelling approach for short-duration pollution events is still under study. The area is not subject to blooms of macroalgae and/or potentially toxic microalgae.
