This bathing area is located in a coastal plain near the Ciachea stream mouth in Capaci, Sicily. The zone is characterized by a beach adjacent to residential structures, with population density increasing during the bathing season. An area of 5,600 square meters extending from the eastern boundary to Lungomare C. Colombo 963B to the west is interdicted from bathing.

Coastal water body. The bathing area spans 400 meters in length. It is located near the mouth of the Palermo-Capaci river basin.

Location

Capaci, Palermo Province, Sicily. The bathing area extends 400 meters along the coast between coordinates 38.1797-13.2269 and 38.1817-13.2305. The competent authority is the Municipality of Capaci, Piazza Calogero Troia.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Sufficient (2019–2024). No bathing prohibitions are in place. The river mouth has been identified as a pollution source.

Risks

The area is at risk for development of Ostreopsis Ovata. Despite proximity to highly urbanized zones, no recent cyanobacterial proliferation events have been reported.
