A sandy beach located in front of the urban centre of Praia a Mare in Calabria. The beach is classified as geomorphologically a piedmont alluvial plain coast. It is a coastal bathing water area with good water quality classification.

Coastal water body within the Tortora–Scalea water body system. Sandy beach.

Location

Praia a Mare, Cosenza Province, Calabria Region. The bathing area is situated 50 meters on the left bank of the Fiumarella Canal.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: good. Monitoring is conducted by the Region, Municipality, ASP, and Arpacal.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events from surface runoff in agricultural areas have been identified at the mouth of the Torrente Pantano. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the last four years.
