A sandy-pebble beach located 500 metres north of the Torrente Sant'Eufrasia stream in Curinga, Calabria. The beach is situated in front of agricultural territories and features a seabed slope of 1.4% from the shoreline to the 5-metre depth contour. The bathing water is classified as excellent quality.

Location

Curinga, Catanzaro Province, Calabria region. The bathing area extends 1.604 square kilometres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The bathing water is monitored under the Lamezia Terme - Curinga water body designation.

Risks

The Torrente Sant'Eufrasia stream mouth is identified as a potential pollution source. Accidental depurator failure and overflow events from the Curinga Ergadi treatment plant have occurred. Cyanobacteria proliferation has not been documented in the past four years. Macroalgae, phytoplankton, and toxic species proliferation have not been documented in the past four years.
